Yongbo Chen 陈勇波

Dr. Yongbo Chen is a tenured-track Associate Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He received his Bachelor's degree from Beijing Institute of Technology in 2012 and his Ph.D. from the University of Technology Sydney in 2021. In the same year, he joined the UTS Robotics Institute as a postdoctoral researcher. From late 2021 to 2025, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the School of Computing, Australian National University.
In recent years, he has published 26 SCI/EI-indexed papers, including 17 SCI-indexed ones, with 9 papers in leading IEEE journals such as IEEE Transactions on Robotics (TRO) and IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics (TMECH). He has presented 6 papers at top robotics and AI conferences including ICRA, IROS, and NeurIPS. His work has been cited over 1800 times on Google Scholar, with six first-author papers cited over 100 times and one over 500 times. He currently serves or has served as an Associate Editor for IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters and major conferences such as IROS (2021–2025) and ICRA (2025).
